Jah Knee Dee

Jah Knee Dee was born and raised in Charlotte NC. The urban skateboarding and Hip Hop scene held his attention captive in his adolescence. Later in life, he rediscovered writing in the midst of a mental health crisis. He channeled his anxiety and overactive mind into writing, exploring metaphysics and spirituality in poetry and blogging. Jah Knee Dee recovered his mental health and found purpose in writing. He transformed his illness into an asset.

Jah Knee Dee later rediscovered Hip Hop lyric writing.  He recalls his words “seamlessly filling the rhyme schemes carved into his psyche over the years”. Jah Knee Dee decided to make his instrumentals from scratch, and so his music production journey began.

With heavy hitting lyricism accompanied by flavors of R&B and soul, JAH KNEE DEE explores existentialism, spirituality, philosophy, mental health, and what it means to be human, to suffer, to grow, and to evolve.

Jah Knee Dee has produced and released 33 songs (3 albums, an EP, and 4 singles). Through this experience, he has become proficient in music production, confident in the quality of his craft. Now based in Asheville NC, he offers recording studio sessions, and production services at affordable sliding scale rates.
